About Us ~

Joe Silva’s interest in photography began at an early age. In junior high school, Joe began taking photography classes and continued throughout his high school years. After enrolling at Ohlone College, Joe advanced his photographic knowledge by taking advanced photography courses. Joe honed his photography skills by mentoring with a local wedding photographer. By the age of 18, Joe entered into a partnership and opened his first studio. Joe’s photography career has been enhanced through his memberships with the Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area (PPGBA), the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).

MaryLu, Joe’s wife, took an interest in photography 16 years ago. MaryLu‘s passion for black & white photography is easily demonstrated through her artistic and photojournalistic style. MaryLu specializes in creative set designs and props to create and capture the perfect setting. Since 1990, Joe and MaryLu have been creating memories for their clients, and together, they created “Captured Memories Fine Photography” to create quality photographic services in the San Francisco Bay region of western California.
